The Division is an organization made up of faculty at Harvard University and 17 healthcare institutions affiliated with Harvard Medical School. The Division’s mission can be divided into three parts – research, education, and investigations of clinical models. The Division manages a portfolio of clinical trials and basic mechanistic investigations. It offers a number of continuing medical education courses for medical professionals, as well as courses for medical and public health students. It supervises a post-graduate research training program for medical doctors and is involved in the development of programs for residents and medical students.

The Center conducts and supports basic and applied research and training and disseminates information on complementary and alternative medicine to practitioners and the public.

Dr. Freeman is Executive Faculty at Saybrook Graduate School and is affiliated with the Integrative Health Studies Concentration. Individuals interested in obtaining masters or doctoral degrees in psychology or human sciences with an emphasis in mind-body therapies can achieve this goal by seeking a degree from Saybrook. Students interested in studying the research, outcomes, benefits and limitations of a variety of complementary and alternative therapies, including indigenous forms of healing, can also receive a well-rounded education in these areas by attending Saybrook Graduate School. Dr. Freeman is a graduate of Saybrook, so the career path she has chosen is one example of how a degree from Saybrook can be utilized.
